A human mind can get more information from an in-focus image than an out-of-focus image. But do in-focus images contain have more information (less entropy) in the physical sense than out-of-focus images? For example, in elementary optics there are situations where a system of lenses can project an in-focus image on a screen at a certain location, but the image will be out-of-focus at other locations. Is there any information "lost" if the screen is placed where the image is out-of-focus?
