An old silent film on astronomy and a nice immunization film

In my current searching around Internet Archive I found a couple of films that made me think of BA. I hope I am posting this in the right spot. And, oh yea, long time first time.

Big note: Though I like to find old films and the like on this site, a warning to anyone planning to search around it some. There are a number of things there not suitable for all viewers. But both of these are safe.

First an old silent movie on some "astronomical" ideas. It more of less gets everything right. But I think some animation seems to get backwards at times. An watch for what would happen to the earth if there was no gravity, it is a good laugh.

This is an Pro-Immunization film made in 1955 showing on how it works and that it is completely safe. Is does have some animal testing in it, but nothing is really hurt. And some great shots of kids getting....... well shots.

Welcome aboard! I assume, if you've been lurking, you've already read the rules, but do keep posting. Great finds.

Interesting that the first shows the apple as landing at Newton's feet rather than on his head.

Thanks, I have been a fan for ages (even back to the old site). And as I said these things just screamed BA at me. Yea, that is odd. But I think the fall on the head is a newer myth.

And a couple of more I just found.

A newsreel of Ham the chimp. For those of you who don't know the name Ham was the first hominid to go into space. They were testing on how he stood up to going into space and how well he worked a lever game they set up for him.

And this is a great one an anti-quackery film from 1959. This one made my head hurt about half way through due to the fact that everything they are saying is still what is being said to get rid of quacks today. But it is great because it shows on how to report them and to whom.

Note again: these are both safe videos. But the site does have things not safe for all viewers.

    That's really great... it's like a proto-powerpoint presentation!
