Yes, was reported on the news here. Given that there were reports of a sonic boom (an a blue flash and explosion at the tail end of the streak), it is though there may have been fragments which survived entry. The hunt for them is going on right now. Very interesting stuff.

While it isn't definite that an impact, should it have occured in this case, did happen in Saskatchewan, I can think of no better place (aside from the arctic) with as favorable chances of finding meteorites. For those not familiar with Sask...it is very flat.

Much covered in snow as well...

Flat? Yes, yes it is :P

The snow part isn't quite right, at least according to my dad who farms in Saskatchewan.

Hehe. Flat indeed. I know people from northern Saskatchewan who would bite your heads off for saying such things. Apparently those people not living ont he Saskatchewan planes are sensitive. I attribute it to living in such a boring place. :P

I wonder how long until those chunks, assuming they exist, end up on e-bay?

Where sask is flat is where the railroad and then the highway was put. Now everyone thinks the entire huge province is flat. Silly people.

Earlier topic, from the day, as reports came in: Edmonton Meteorite Nov.20,2008

OH! This was started 4 years ago, for a different meteor! Just the recent article should move to the other, not both merged.

I grew up in Marsden where i guess they are now saying the meteor landed(actually around Manitou lake). I tell you they are gonna have fun trying to find any rocks for a couple of reasons. one there is no snow there right now which would help to find any new rock and two, contrary to what everyone thinks about Saskatchewan, that part of the province is nothing but rolling hills and coulees. With their luck all the debris landed in the lake and they will never find it. that lake is pretty deep in some spots.
