In Australia we have a beer called “Fat Yak”, who make these cool really-hairy stubby-holders.

That is interesting.

I wonder if one could re-do the number line--with the first "interesting" number being the digit one, pi as 3, and so on...

So that it can be printed using a Braille embosser.
Braille books need typesetting. After checking the text in a conventional font, the typesetter converts to Braille and does layout adjustments that meet the usability requirements of the blind reader. It's particularly useful if you're trying to lay out text in both printed characters and Braille, which is common.
