I've just watched the weekly science hour Hang out with Emily Lakdawalla and David Seal.
It was wonderful to bring into focus the engineering behind space sciences. We all love the work our scientists are doing, but lets hear from the engineers too ... its fascinating to listen to, and might i say just as inspiring.
When you look at that Curiosity landing system, it just boggles the mind.

I completely agree with you, the Curiosity landing system is "mind boggling". It's such an awesome way to not only get the MSL to Mars safely, but opens avenues for future safe landings on Mars. We have less than two months to "see" it in action!
