    Planetfest 2012

Is anyone else going to the Planetary Society's Planetfest 2012 to celebrate the landing of Curiosity?

I'll be there, look for me representing in my Cosmoquest T-shirt.

Can't get out to Pasadena? Then look for a Planetfest near you!.

Can't find one near you? Then Start one!

Best way to advocate space... just go out and do it. Don't be a spectator, be a participant. Start now.

A journey of a thousand light years begins with a single photon.

I thought I might be going, but my parents said it was too expensive to fly to Pasadena. Instead, I'm going to stay in DC a few days after my internship is over and watch the Curiosity landing at NASA HQ.

However, let me just say that I wholeheartedly agree with the last two lines of your post:

This is exactly my view on space advocacy and I think you have hit the nail on the head!

If you are really representing CosmoQuest, then CosmoQuest should pay for a booth for you to promote it.
I am going to Planetfest as an unaffiliated space buff representing no organizations.

Oh I'm not representing CQX, sorry to have been misleading, that was a slang reference that didn't come across well in my post.

That's great that you're going though! If you see me in my T shirt, then say hi.

I must thank you, johnnycarlos, for creating this thread. If you hadn't, I probably wouldn't have thought to look up other potential locations. So if anyone's planning to go to the one in Toronto, I'll see you there. And if you live elsewhere and are interested in participating, do check out the page for Planetfest events near you.

Cool natattack! Great to hear someone found something, makes the post all worth it. I've been to Toronto once. It was the cleanest, nicest, big city I've ever seen.

That sound *really* cool. Is it open to the public? If so, please submit the info to spaceplaces.org !

NASA HQ is open to the public on weekdays during normal working hours, like most other NASA centers. However, for the Curiosity landing, it will be open from midnight to 4 AM on Sunday night/Monday morning.
