    Starship SN-05 had a successful static fire. No accidental mass simulator launch or tank farm schrapnel strikes. so all set for the hop!
    With sufficient thrust, water towers fly just fine.

    Is this an update?
    From the description in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vlH...p=wgIECgIIAQ==

    07.30.2020 Stealth Cam gets you the closest you can get to a static fire. SpaceX ended the month of July with a SN5 static fire at Boca Chica, Texas. The results are unknown but all upcoming road closures have been cancelled. The last view is from the Stealth Cam which gave us the most unobstructed view of the static fire.
    Since your post was after the video was posted your post "updated" road closures, and I was just wondering if the road closures are in effect or cancelled. I hope that those road closures are in effect because I would like to see another hop.

    Those were posted by the County at 1720 Eastern August 30. Haven't seen any later notices.

    The next Starlink launch has been delayed yet again. They seem be snakebit on that one.

    SpaceX has been launching weather balloons at Boca Chica, and the tracking dishes are pointed at SN-05.

    LabPadre rumors are a 150 meter hop attempt no earlier than 1600 Local (Central), 1700 Eastern.

    LabPadre mod says a "birdie" told him it'll be delayed 2 hours, so 1900 Eastern.

    Scott Manley is now providing guest commentary on LabPadre. Awesome. I love his accent.
    And there's lots of venting happening. Getting close, I hope.

    "Starship SN5 scrubs attempt a 150-meter flight test"

    https://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2020...r-flight-test/

    The Starship SN5 prototype was set to attempt a 150-meter test flight on Monday from Boca Chica, Texas. However, it was scrubbed ahead of Raptor engine ignition. The hop will be the first flight of a full-scale Starship tank section. If the hop is successful, it will clear the way for SpaceX to attempt higher altitude flights with Starship prototypes.

    Abort cause: the spin-start valve didn't open.

    Trying again tomorrow; same Bat-times, same Bat-channel.

    Had it on in the background for about 20 minutes, looks like good timing. Hopefully no abort . . .

    Heavy venting just stopped . . . I shouldn’t have said anything about an abort.
