Is this a spacecraft, perhaps one of the early Apollo missions?

Could you clarify where you got that photo? Do you know the scale, for example?

I found it mapping craters on this site. No scale is provided for the images as far as I can tell, it would be nice if more info was provided.

Could you show where you found it other than just that link. For example, are you certain that that is the moon and not Mercury, for example?

the angle of illumination might be different, but the topography looks the same.

Yes, definitely the Lunar Rover.
The lighting is different, but the craters are all in the same place.
