Could not find a thread dedicated to China's Wenchang Satellite Launch Center.

Unlike the other launch centers in China which is closed to visitors, the latest center welcomes them. A big positive for the Chinese government which has always been seen as secretive with their space programme.

China's new Wenchang Satellite Launch Center on the island Province of Hainan hosted last year the debuts of the massive Long March 5 and Long March 7 rockets. During this year's Spring Festival it also saw a surge in tourism.

The country's three older launch sites - Jiuquan, Taiyuan and Xichang - were constructed in the interior during the Cold War and facilitate mostly closed-off launches. Now, China is starting to open up.

Numerous tourists visited Wenchang Satellite Launch Center ahead of the Spring Festival, which fell on Jan 28, 2017.

One of the main attractions are the models of Long March 7 and 5 rockets, as well as visits to the launch tower.
