    Annoying Puzzle

    Line Game

This puzzle is impossible to solve, right? What with more than two vertices of order three (Euler and the bridges of Konigsberg etc).

As soon as I finished it, it cleared my line. I'm not completely sure how I did it.

    Winner

    Edited to add:

Okay, here is what they are claiming is the solution:

I think it gives you the answer if you do it wrong a bunch of times.

#-o I totally misunderstood what they were asking you to do. I thought it was one of those where you have to trace out the figure without going over any section twice.

I tried doing a mirror image of that (like this) and it wouldn't let me win. I also found a few other ways to solve the puzzle that were not accepted. This is pretty dumb.

Poor programming. It lets you finish without setting off the alarm, then says "You Lose." Seems to me that if you hit each line segment and don't set off the alarm, "you win."

I don't get all the rules, as in their solution they cross their own line.
With sufficient thrust, water towers fly just fine.

The rules appear to be somewhat arbitrary. As Grey pointed out, the exact mirror image of their solution produces a "you lose" message.

I agree, you cannot "cross" the middle (lower) vertical line without crossing your own pen-mark. By "cross" I mean to draw a horizontal line across both vertical edges of the thick white line.

Strangely, you could argue that by drawing a line vertically through the thick white line (as is done by the winning solution) could be considered "crossing". If this were the solution, I'd applaud them for their creativity. However, this doesn't produce a winner on it's own. You need to come back and cross it again horizontally.

I agree -- it's a stupid puzzle since it follows its rules inconsistantly.

and inconsistent rules are the one thing that I really, really don't like in these kind of puzzles.

    (Actually, that was me.)

Crossing your own pen mark is not actually against the rules, although they make it sound as though it is. The only thing the game cares about is the order in which you touch the diagram lines. If you touch one twice, you lose. If you touch them in the "correct" order, you win. To make the game solvable, once you've touched all but the last two in the proper order, it magically becomes possible to touch that last vertical line without it registering. Then once you've touched the second-to-last line, you can touch the last one to win.

It's not even necessary to make a continuous line with your pen! Check this out: after taking this screenshot, I touched the last line and won!

Edited because I couldn't make the image tags work for some reason.
