Trivial things that don't bug me: The forum clock!

Hey! The clock's right!
The clock appears to be about a minute fast. I'm posting this at close to 8:35 AM according to my phone.
Two minutes now. I'm posting at 9:58 PM.
Four minutes.
Best we warn CERN not to use this forum's clock to run their experiments.

Actually, the forum clock is absolutely perfect, it is the rest of the Universe that's messed up.

On average, the clocks here and at ISF are just about right!

A: "Things that are equal to the same are equal to each other"
B: "The two sides of this triangle are things that are equal to the same"
C: "If A and B are true, Z must be true"
D: "If A and B and C are true, Z must be true"
E: "If A and B and C and D are true, Z must be true"
Therefore, Z: "The two sides of this triangle are equal to each other"

Five minutes or so now.
Looks like it. But who the heck actually cares?
Seriously, the forum clock accuracy is so trivial it doesn't even merit the "trivial things that bug me" thread.

All I can think of is a Mad magazine bit from the late 70's.
Some guys from "the power plant" are discussing when they should go out on strike.
One suggests doing it at 2:00 am.
... so everybody else's alarms don't work and they're all late for work.
So, do not use the CQ forum clock to decide when to go to work.

I know that some people who are not neurotypical, like my brother, find "unimportant" things like this highly disruptive if they wind up (for a variety of reasons) dwelling on it. One way he deals with it is mentioning it or talking about it or reading about it. If this thread provides that sort of relief or someone in lieu of the board actually keeping the correct time, I have no problem with it.

Six minutes or so. We could gain a day every few decades.
Ten minutes now. I estimate about 3.4 seconds per day.

I’m not sure if I mentioned this before, but I had this same issue with a home PC sometime in the ‘90s and did a fair amount of research on the issue. Basically, quartz crystal based clocks (which typically are used in computers) are fairly precise time keepers but not necessarily accurate. Unless they are carefully adjusted, they will often run a bit fast or a bit slow (too many or too few cycles per second) but they will be consistently fast or slow. It is possible to do a software correction that will improve things considerably by adding or subtracting cycles (like adding 10 for every 100,000 or whatever is needed), but it usually requires custom software. We don’t see the issue as often these days because most machines regularly update from internet time standard sites based on atomic clocks. This one must be running without an internet correction.

I noticed in the past that the clock is correct after a system crash.
Unlike the forum clock, my grandmother's clock in the guest room is right twice a day.
I tried calling the repair guy but only left a message.
