Probably an undocumented Windows 10 feature. Come to think of it, Microsoft has quit documenting anything.

Thanks for the pics, Treb. Classic cats!

I think some image display routines in web browsers pay attention to the EXIF orientation information encoded in an image and some don't. As a result, some rotate images and some don't and some are inconsistent. I think some servers might try to modify it so the result will be upright in most browsers. It's all quite annoying.

Funny! My partner, Donna, a firm believer that cats are aliens, thinks that "accidentally" shoud be "deliberately".

Cats are, of course, proof that the world isn't flat. They'd hav pushed everything off the edge.

I'm actually rather disappointed that I haven't had a cat intrude upon any of my teleconferences lately, but 8 to 5 is prime sleep time for them (of course, so is much of the evening and night... life is tough when you need 16 hours of sleep a day).

One of our cats (Aengus, the youngest) has taken to "escorting" me when I go upstairs. If he sees me headed toward the stairs he will race ahead, go up a few steps, then sit and wait for me. I'm expected to stroke his back a bit, then he'll run a few steps up and wait again. Sometimes he will reach out a paw to guide my hand to him.

Ours do variants of that. As human bedtime draws near, sometimes Ginger will start leading my wife to bed (Ginger likes to sleep next to my wife). She'll start taking some steps in that direction, and if my wife gets up and starts heading that way, Ginger will lead a few steps in front.

Maki will let you know when she wants to be petted. If you are sitting in a chair or on the couch, she'll sit next to you, or on the back of the couch, and poke you gently with her paw until you start to pet her. If you walk by her she'll rub against you till you start to lean over, and then she'll get up on her hind legs and push her head into your descending hand.

Here is our new cat Shinobu. My son Paul looks a little disheveled because our dog woke up and remembered the kitten and stormed his room. It was loud as all get out.

The dog has been sheparding the kitten for 36 hours now with no let up. She doesn't mind.

My son named this cat Shinobu, or "Stealth". He named the last cat Benito Mouse-o-lini. We just call him Benny. He accidentally let it slip that he was saving the name Scout for his dog. As you can see, we have a dog. And now two cats, so I don't see a new dog in the future.

We have an overweight cat named Cinnamon Sundae who is known to talk. She speaks "cat" with a long and wide variety of catlike sounds, but mixed with dog barks, quacks, and other sounds, including human speech. I was scratching her back this morning in the kitchen when she looked up at me, tongue sticking out in joy, and said "BOW WOW" in the clearest voice. She's previously known to say things like "NO!" when being picked off a table, or "ALL RIGHT" and other things. It was lucky I am on two blood-pressure meds or I would have dropped dead. She once looked up at me and said "MEOW" as a human word in English, with perfect enunciation as if having a private joke with me. She is part Siamese, we think, especially in the face, and mostly part longhair, about 16 lbs.

One of ours just came in and yelled at me for attention so I picked her up. She hates being picked up. You'd think she was being murdered or something. So I took her into the next room, plopped her on the bed, and spent the next 10 minutes or so petting her. With loud purring and rubbing.

But next time I pick her up she'll think she's being murdered again.

Both our cats are Ragdolls. They are so named because of their supposed tendency to go limp in your arms when you pick them up. We had one before, and she was just like the one mentioned above. REALLY didn't like being picked up. But our other current one really does go limp.

    Pictures please?

I love cats. I love dogs too. My wife and I have several cats, ones that no one wanted. A couple are outlaws but the rest are very friendly.

One is upthread, albeit sideways. Here is Bunny. I sent this to my wife and she said "Adorable!" I agree.
Most of the time anyhow; I wasn't too happy when she peed outside the litter box again this morning.

Ha! Maybe I shouldn’t mention it, but many years ago, the family cat’s name was Irene. She was a very long lived and very well natured cat.

Since then, cats were typically named after a characteristic: Tim, the timid cat. Snow, the white furred cat. Cali the calico. Orange, the orange tabby. Puff, the thick furred cat that looked like a puffball when young.

That’s nice. It looks like your kitten really trusts Irene, not just next to her, but resting on its back.

Irene's nickname is actually "Bean," because that's how she pronounced her name when she first started talking.

When Irene visited my house, I was quite amazed at how she flew up stairs! I'm forgetting whether she met our kitties or if they were in hiding.

I think she met one of them before it ran away from her. She loves our kitties, and the feeling is not always reciprocated.

That doesn't change when the grow up (either the cats or the people growing up). My wife will often get the urge to hug or kiss the cats, no matter how often I tell her that cats don't recognize those as greetings or signs of affection. They are pretty tolerant of it, but sometimes they'll resist, usually by leaving.
