Wishing he was a dead British famous scientist, apparently. A complex agenda.

Sure. But just being in that situation closes a lot of doors, irrespective of guilt or innocence.

Pre-fall RBS had the Queen Mum (Gawd bless 'er) on a note and in a shameless piece of merchandising for a golf tournament they sponsored RBS had Jack Nicklaus on a commemorative fiver. And that isn't anywhere near the top ten worst things Fred the Shred did.

I assume because that picture is a mockup of note that doesn't exist, and I think the template image is of an old note, you don't need to watermark the image with SPECIMEN.

I would say that Newton would be a very attractive choice. I dare say the attraction would be universal.

Dr. Bernard Quatermass saves the entire Earth from the Martians, and this is the thanks he gets? I am outraged. I will speak with my Congressperson.
There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact.

When we realize that patterns don't exist in the universe, they are a template that we hold to the universe to make sense of it, it all makes a lot more sense.

I guess the bigger question is why are they making a £50 note? You almost never need to use cash in the UK, and the biggest purchase you would make from a place without a card reader is about £20 - typically a small cafe or the barber.

Generational divide. Many of us still use cash all the time. I've yet to do anything so fancy as make a contactless payment, and I don't own a smart enough phone to do whatever it is people do with phones to pay for stuff. Anything under a few hundred quid, I'll pay in cash.

Do you have a bank card? I find that most of them already have contactless built in. It sometimes needs to be enabled by calling up your bank.
