Mysterious Advertising In My Signature Line !!

Mysterious links, which I do NOt add, appear on my compurter when I post.

I am irritated. I hate the current invasive advertising on the Internet (including CQ) with a purple passion.

    Has anybody else encountered this?

I don't see your signature line. Did you turn it off because of the issue?

If mobile device: browser or tapatalk or other?
What version of the operating system?
What kind and version of browser?
    Any plugins? Which?
    When did this start?
How up to date is your virusscan and malware detection?

    account

On my machine, both occurences of 'account' generate links to advertiing. The thrid use of the word, in quotes, does not.

I don't see any links generated on my end, in either Chrome or MSIE.

No double post on my end, either.

And still no ad links that I can see. I suspect you may have some sort of adware at work on your box.

Some web sites will put hot links on "keywords" in text. They usually provide more information but can lead to ads. Maybe the software you are using to access the Forum uses a similar system and "tags" certain words for you.

I'm pretty sure it is. But since you answer none of my questions it's pretty hard to attempt to help you. Best guess: get your machine scanned for, and cleaned from malware ASAP. If it's not malware, then it's probably a "free" browser plugin that does it.

I think you are correct. My big concern was inadvertently posting advertising links to the Forum. Thanks to you and Brett amd Swift and Jim and Roger it was quickly narrowed down, and appears to not be a forum problem. Whew!
