It's essential to keep at least somewhat abreast of new instrumentation in the field. So, Conferences, emails, archives, and forums are a help. These authors envision new stuff, photonic lanterns, fiber Bragg gratings, etc.... with the application of photonics to large telescopes operating at diffraction limits in Australia.
