The Hunterís Moon will rise this evening (October 13) at 18:35 CDT as viewed from the Adler Planetarium on the shore of Lake Michigan, and up to three minutes later in the far western suburbs. Moonrise throughout Chicagoland will occur about 22 minutes after sunset. At that time the Moon will appear at a point on the horizon about 5˚ to the North (left) of due East.

Observers in other locations will need to consult tables or apps for the time of local moonrise.

This is the first Full Moon after the Harvest Moon, which was the one occurring nearest to the time of the Autumnal Equinox.

Photos and descriptions of the Hunterís Moon would be welcome additions to this thread.
