    Wouldn't the average wind speed at 50km on Venus of just over 200kmh require a pretty robust construction?

    I very much doubt that such a low thrust craft could remain stable for very long under those conditions and almost certainly fail the first time it encountered peak wind speeds during one of the frequent violent storms Venus's atmosphere produces, even at such high altitudes.

    It reminds me a bit of the glider concepts for ocean research...
