    Cool February New Moon Spotting

Itís nearly time for my monthly New Moon spotting challenge. I use the term New Moon in its classical sense of oneís first sighting of the Moon after its monthly solar conjunction (Dark Moon). Sharp-eyed observers may attempt to spot the over one-day-old Moon after sunset on February 24th.

My more detailed article and preview graphics can be found at https://www.CurtRenz.com/moon.html

Photos and descriptions of the young crescent Moon late this month would be welcome additions to this thread.

It was a quiet on-call evening when I looked out of my office window and found the relatively Moon (2 days, five hours, if I get the time difference between CST and CET right) below a shining Venus. Only the mobile phone cam available, so relatively shoddy image quality. Still, you can recognize the two celestial bodies and see what a nice view I have from my office .
