DAIN/AI Interpolation of NASA footage

The DAIN-AI App takes two frames and uses a trained neural network to interpolate new frames in-between.

I have been trying this with tons of NASA footage, here are some comparisons:

The rendertime of a 720p video is about 1 hour per 1 minute of footage. Enjoy.

I'm going to call this a proof-of-concept/experiment

Apollo 11 flag deployment interpolated from 1 to 8fps (8x interpolated) . This took like 2-3 days to complete.

Naturally there is a copyright claim on the audio that I have already filed a dispute for.

Not really satisfied with the Archive.org 720p files anymore...


I have looked at the highest-quality Apollo 16mm scans, and the entire archive is 30Tb, 1440x1080 ProRes444 scans.

Unfortunately the archivist said it is a nonstarter because it doesn't look like I will have the required budget. As they normally sell to docs, studio's and TV programs.

I'll see if I can buy maybe a few mags every once in a while. This would mean lower production rate, but orders of magnitude higher quality.
