Couldn't they just get the old server a new clock?

Wednesday at 11 . . . Well, it depends on your time zone.

The 13th? Why am I reminded of this Futurama clip?

Seriously, this sounds good. Although I haven’t seen those nasty database errors for awhile, they came up too often for comfort and apparently were an issue with the current server, so hopefully this will resolve that.

Well, the notices seem to have gone away. Good job, tech team!

The notice was rigged to time out when the migration was supposed to start. That it's not there isn't evidence that the migration was done.

I was wondering because their seemed to be no change or announcement.

Looking at forum activity, I don't see any sign of an hour-long hiatus, so I daresay something came up that required it to be postponed. We'll post an update here as soon as we can once we know something.

I hope the new server upgrades to the Gregorian calendar. That might solve the clock problem.

Pamela has just informed me that the migration came off successfully and was even quicker and easier than anticipated.

Relief! Also, I migrated and didn't have to do anything!

So, just thinking about the use of "migration"....
Migratory animals (and humans!) do so twice a year, going to a new place in one season and back to the old one in another. Can we expect the reverse migration back to the old server in six months or so?

Not this time— then too, if the old server is scrapped, the box might be a home for ants.
