    Migration to a new server

    All

    The forum will be migrating to a new server. The migration will occur
    Wednesday, May 13, at 5:00 PM CENTRAL/6:00 PM EASTERN/22:00 UTC.

    If all goes well, the forum will be down for an hour or so.
    At night the stars put on a show for free (Carole King)

    Seriously, this sounds good. Although I haven’t seen those nasty database errors for awhile, they came up too often for comfort and apparently were an issue with the current server, so hopefully this will resolve that.

    The notice was rigged to time out when the migration was supposed to start. That it's not there isn't evidence that the migration was done.

    So, just thinking about the use of "migration"....
    Migratory animals (and humans!) do so twice a year, going to a new place in one season and back to the old one in another. Can we expect the reverse migration back to the old server in six months or so?
