    A question about Saturn's rings on March 6 1840

How could I look up or find out what an observer would see on the date above if they viewed Saturn? I know the rings present different aspects to a viewer so is there any way to determine what their viewability was on that date?

    Thanks!

Here's the ring aspect as simulated by Bill Gray's Guide9 software (which is very very good for the things I've checked). Online, you can also check the JPL Solar system simulator. (Oops, never mind, that only starts in 1990...) You could also try Stellarium, which is free, multiplatform, and has a web version. I checked that and it gives a very similar simulated view.
