    Please help the forum!

As you are probably aware, the forum has been experiencing some issues lately. These can be fixed, but we need your help. i've been in contact with Pamela, Nancy, and the mod team and a special donation page has been set up for helping the forum. If you are in a position to do so, please consider chipping in. I've kicked it off. If you contribute, let me know by PM and I'll match (within reason) what you give, over and above what I already did.

    Here's the donation link:
    https://planetaryscienceinstitute.ki...mpaign=1157195

It's tax deductible in the USA and will be going to a good cause.

This place is worth saving. I know I've been griping about it lately, but have decided it's better to take some positive action. Please help.

The forum is important to me. Without it I wouldn't have met Gillian, Looking Skyward (RIP!), and Torsten in real life, and so many other fine folks virtually.

Finally, if you aren't in a position to help financially, that's totally fine. But you can still help. Participate. Encourage others to participate. Find a new member. Or three!

    Together, we can do this!

I'm willing to donate something toward the costs of maintaining the place. I'll also note that I'm a programmer; I'd be willing to donate my time to assist with the job of keeping the system running.

Thanks! I will let Pamela know that you have skills that may be put to good use!

I wish I could help, if we had to pay on how many hours we on the forum I would a lot of money.

A couple of things I forgot to mention:
    1. If you contribute, go ahead and click the box to cover the cost of credit card processing. It's only a little, and helps!
    2. It may be worth checking to see if your employer will match your contribution! Many big companies do that sort of thing.

Okay, I added a bit more to my contribution and that appears to have covered it. It shows $4504 at this point.

I will request my company's parent corporation to match the contribution (they do a 50% match), but they take 6 to 8 weeks to process such things, so it will more likely go to future needs.

This is GREAT!!! We can put into reserve for the next need that arises.

THANK YOU to everyone who contributed! We at CosmoQuest look forward to upgrading the forum to a stable, functional state.

One thing that would greatly help the forum is to fix the image posting problem without waiting for the rebuild. It's of pretty recent origin, no later than mid-September. Something changed around that time; it shouldn't be that difficult to figure out what.

    Please!

Would you spend time and money fixing up your car just before you scrap it and buy a new one?

I think it depends on how long it takes to diagnose the issue and the cause. I’ve been wondering if it had to do with some set limit reached on the cloud instance for the BBS server that might need to be increased or reset. It *might* be possible to resolve that quickly. On the other hand, it might be a bug internal to the BBS software, in which case it would probably be better to wait for the software update.

If I can't get anywhere, or get a new one right away, and its a reasonably simple fix, absolutely!

In case anyone's wondering, things are happening behind the scenes. Stay tuned, it'll happen!
