Found another cool site while looking up info on Betelgeuse.

Teachs you three constellations, 2 stars and a planet. (Or at least the zone that planets move in.) I knew how to find Orion, Cassiopeia, the Big Dipper and could find Polaris from the Big Dipper, but I didn't know where Betelgeuse was or the zone that the planets mved in. I think I'll make this part of my children's homeschool curriculum.

A warning to all: surf this site at your own risk. I believe that it may have defective Javascript. When I closed the window on the program and came back here, links would no longer work. I even closed Netscape and opened it again but to no avail. The only thing that worked was rebooting the machine.

That's really too bad because I really liked the site and would like to visit it again and recommend it to others.

I've noticed that javascript can sometimes screw up Netscape. It will leave a defunct program (easily noticable if you run linux). If this happens, cntl-alt-del (on Win95/8) or bring up the task manager (in WinNT) and you will notice a Netscape process running even after you supposedly closed it. Just force the process to end, then reopen Netscape once you are sure no defunct processes are running.

My solution is using the Opera Web Browser. I'm a gesture junky.

I really like that Atlas of the Universe site. It gives you a much better sense of just how freakin big the universe really is. Of course it also tends to make me feel just a tad puny and insignificant.
