We now have the "big rip".

    http://www.nytimes.com/2004/02/17/science/...ace/17DARK.html

According to this article the recent increase in the rate of expansion of the universe started 4 or 5 million years ago. Maybe the universe is accordian-like, or is this just an anomalous convolution of the expansion theory?

Has there been discovered a significant change in the ratio of hydrogen + helium to the other elements in the spectra of distant galaxies correlatable to distance (age)? Same question for hydrogen versus helium? Is the universe becoming ironclad and black hole encased? If so, the big bang paradigm is favored; if not, some sort of steady stae paradigm is favored with a hydrogen recycling process implied.

    Your comments please!

Gourdhead, I think you know by now I'm an adherent to the "Black Hole Universe" theory...but do you have another link please that doesn't require elaborate signing-up procedures?? Sounds interesting.

I don't have another link but a round about way is to enter through George Goory's (formerly Art Bell) site which is how I avoided the sign in procedures.
coast to coast It's near the bottom of the second page if you go soon.

The link focusses not on black holes but on the stretching of spacetime (accelerating expansion) caused by dark energy (per their guessing) which may eventually rip even neutrinos apart.

My guess is that we and they have much more to learn.
