    I'm not sure that curiouser is the way to describe it, unless you're starting from a position that small amounts of active microbial life on Mars is not possible. This story adds another piece to the foundation of the discovery of life on Mars, which will only be actually proved when we find and culture actual Martian microbes.

    If we do find them [say twenty years from now], it will be interesting to see how they operate [are they DNA based?]

    It is a real pity that Beagle 2 did not make it as I am pretty sure it was equipped to sniff out these sorts of "Biomolecules"
