Probobly not. If it goes to court someone might see it and realize that they really can't sell something that its unsellable. Thye would be gotten for fraud.

I think the ISR has covered their bases on that one--they only offer to sell you a certificate which has been registered with the copyright office, don't they?

    Just for the record:

It was not P.T. Barnum who said "There's a sucker born every minute." It was one of P.T. Barnum's competitors, complaining about how the public was being suckered in by Barnum's fake giant skeleton. (Ironically, the competitor was displaying the Cardiff Giant, which later ALSO turned out to be fake! 'Though neither Barnum nor his competitor knew it at the time.)

I think that the distributor of Mallard Fillmore has deeper pockets and better lawyers than Ohio Wesleyan University did, in fact ISR probably won't even bother. The holiday shopping season is almost over and they've got the suckers', er, I mean customers' money. Now if the comic strip had run after Thanksgiving, then Mallard Fillmore would have done a true public service!

If someone's going to sell me title to a star, I might well take Sol, so I can start charging folks for it use.
