Post Colliding White Dwarfs Could Create a Supergiant Star

Of all the stars in our galaxy, two classes, known as hydrogen-deficient and R Coronae Borealis are extremely rare. Only a few dozen have been discovered in our entire galaxy. ...

Is there any estimate towards a time frame instead of "briefly"? Are we talking hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands or millions of years?

I think I get it. In another 11.5 billion years, more or less, the ambient temperature of the universe will be the same as that of 25 billion year old white dwarf stars. O.K., I'll stick around to check on the accuracy of your prediction. ;-)

That is how long it will take the white dwarf to "die." Some red dwarfs may be around for trillions of years.
