    I'm looking for a book

    on the history of solar system formation hypotheses. What came before the nebular hypothesis, what came after, are there any major challengers to the title, as it were.

    A book about how we learned how the Solar System will end would also be good.

    From Academic Press

    and the last, it's not focus on the Solar System exactly, but it might give you some related information.

    I know it does not replace a book, but the latest issue of Scientific American has an article on the latest thinking about the birth of the Solar System. It seems it was more chaotic than thought earlier.

    Here is a short summary. They want money for the full access.
