More Sci-Fi art. This time ship deck plans. Kind of Traveller or Star Frontiers themed.

I'm told the second one looks like a Tholian ship. I didn't know they had double hulls. Once someone said "Star Trek", I added a saucer like ship to the mix.

I think I finally got in sync with the design ethic of Star Trek. The first ship is the second ship spun around, re-scaled with a saucer on it. The second ship is an Antelope class ship from Star Smuggler. That ship is triangular, so I doubled everything and added a little neck to it.

(At one time, I was drawing ship deckplans for SFB but Steve broke his leg and I had emergency surgery, so nothing came of it.)

I dropped a pen into my bag and it leaked on some of my artwork. I was doing a series of Star Wars: Rebels styled drawings of characters for a game and wanted to redraw some of them that got ruined. I was working from photos of the originals. My son Paul purchased a poster of Rosie the Riveter and it really influenced my style on the redraws. I was working in pencil for the originals, but the new ones are in colored pencils, which I stole from my daughter.

I really like the way it came out and now want to learn how to use colored pencils. The woman in the top image is the same as the bottom image, which I might have shared before. The bottom image is largely based on a submariner's fire fighting kit from the Royal Navy, circa 1980. The top image features the classic Rosie pose and a Mercury era space suit.

I was going to share a link to my website to show off the other four images I finished this week, but I have greatly increased the number of ads. So, here are photos of the drawings here. All of them are pen and ink, some large areas were done with a brush.
