Most of my photography's not that great, but every once in a while I get lucky.

Woah, I feel that that means something, but I am not sure what.

Kind of art, so last tuesday, I was biking and I saw some large fish trapped in a pool of water. After calling animal control and the fish and game dept, both would do nothing, I came back on Thursday to see how they were.



Then, I came back on Sunday and they were back to being confined to their pond.


Back to their pond.

One of the best pieces of advice I've ever had from a professional photographer was to take lots of photos and be very self critical. This fellow said he might take one, two, or more rolls of film (this was back in the film days), just to get a single shot - but his single shots ended up on the cover National Geographic.

I counted 8. The church's "footprint", the cross on top of the church, the cross on top of the lighthouse, the crosses formed by the 4 window frames in the lighthouse and I think there is a cross on the ground to the right of the church.

You got the 7, but I don't see the 8th; it wasn't intended if there is one.

I used to work in oils, pen & ink, and calligraphy but these days, it's mostly photography...

...but then I do consider myself somewhat the artisan in smoked goods. After 21 days in a maple & brown sugar cure, followed by about 6 hours in the smoker with smoldering apple wood, this is my Canadian bacon:

they are great, heres a few I have done when I was just 15 years old, in ink and a couple in pencil, I couldn't fit my charcoal ones on my scanner as they are too big a shame as they are ok. here goes nothing.....

Sorry. It appears blank because you are at the far left edge when it goes to zoom. This region is white. Move the scroll bars to the center for a heck of a zoom -- much more than I had expected.

This is a model of a ship that I designed for the BSG Universe:

Gryphon Mk.I

It was deployed in large numbers during the first Cylon War as a ground attack craft, equipped with both heavy cannons and air to ground missiles as well as air to air missiles. To keep the weight of the ships down, some were ordered from the factory without paint, just the standard heat-resistant coating given to all colonial space vehicles was applied to the bare metal skin. This did lead to some confusion among colonial pilots, due to the fact that Cylon ships were normally shiny instead of their own. After the war, most were scrapped. A few wound in museums, one actually became a piece of playground equipment at a park on Gemenon.

The red one is a Cardinal, common in central Texas. I don't recognize the other one.

Yes, it is a male Cardinal. The other is a Green Jay and they are found in northern South America, north and south Central America, and southern North America. I've never seen one in or around San Antonio -- too far north. This was taken 100 km south of town.

The Green Jay is, reportedly, all over the southern region of Texas, we call the Valley.

There were three of these Green Jays and they seemed to enjoy the Cardinals.

cool, just remember to stay in the lit areas and don't wander into the woods.

I didn't know the existed till I saw three of them fly in among the cardinals earlier this year.

here are some more from the series.
the last one with the snowmen was made way back in the late 80's with my best friend and his camera on a snowy day where we only got like 3 inches of snow and we were to lazy to make big snow men. I believe it was inspired by a Calvin and Hobbs comic strip.

I agree, this might be something rather novel and, perhaps, marketable -- not that I would know.

maybe one was too large in kb. so it didn't upload, the most you can upload at one time is 8, try it again and see if there is a notice of it being too large or you might not have uploaded it properly!
the pics are great the snowmen remind me of what my son and his mate did while on guard duty earlier this year, I will try and get it off him and put it on here.
