    A little test

Please participate in the poll before reading.

Right. Well. Apparently most people pick 3. We'll wait a bit to see if it's true or not...

I almost picked 3 because I usually pick C on things like this but I figured it for a setup so I picked 1. Oops. Sorry about that, I over thought it.

But why would people pick 3 out of all of them?

Yeah, and according to Three Dog Night, one is the loneliest number, and two can be as bad as one. So you have to pick three or four.

I hope you do not mind a little constructive critisism.

I would have liked a more descriptive question than "which one," something like "Which number do you like the best" or "what number do you assosiate most with."

I have to confess and say that I read through the tread and then answered the poll, once I had an idea of what others had said.

You shouldn't have included the word "one" in the question. It might skew the results.

    The choices, not the narcotics.

I picked 2, just because fewer people did it.

How did you know fewer people had picked 2? (You weren't supposed to look)

I wasn't logged in at the time that I read the poll, and I didn't see TSC's post before I saw the poll options.

Boy, this may have gone better in a place where people think less... anyway, looks like the "one" in the question may have skewed the results... whoops. Anyway, three seems to not have won...

Thank you for your participaton and another very strange poll/thread may be on its way.

I just remembering reading somewhere that, when presented with the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4, people generally picked 3. I wanted to see if it was true or not.

Ok... I can read your mind! Watch this! You have to say the answers out loud for it to work.

    What is two times three?
    what is three times three?
    what is four times three?
    pick a vegetable.

Now, copy the text that is too small to be recognizable text below and paste it into notepad. You might get a shock.
    Text--->Did you pick carrots?<---Text

    Nope, peas. Sorry.

But that's only because I've heard it before.

No, I picked potatoes. Well first I picked a cucumber, but then I remembered that by definition a cucumber is a fruit since it has seeds. Why should I have picked that other vegetable?

Hmmmm... You guys must just be strange.... or maybe it works better in person. Try it on your friends. 96% of people are supposed to answer "carrots" if asked math questions first.

And what are the statistics when asked without doing maths before?

I picked 1, since the question asked which one, and one is 1.

I picked four, and would have even if I knew the idea. Come on, it's 2! What could be cooler?
