I've mentioned this elsewhere, but you pick up a bottle of gin and a bottle of vermouth, announce you are going to make a dry martini, then pour equal amounts of gin and vermouth into a glass.
Immediately, at least three hundred people will appear from nowhere to yell, "That's no way to make a dry martini!"
