Dorian only teased us with a sprinkle here near Richmond, the coastline got their share but it's still bone dry further inland other than some spotty downpours which have missed us. A pleasant week ahead temperature wise in the 70's, albeit dry.

A few clouds in the sky today, a little wood to pile, and the auction is coming for auctions over two days. All I want to do today is rest.

22C, bit of a breeze, just came form setting the auction to get a quick bite and had to run a few errands, too nice of a day to be in all day.

Hitting 94F here today on the first day of Autumn, not cool. Still dry as a bone and crispy with zero rain in sight in the long range forecast.

Mid 80's F here today, still no rain in sight, nor a frost which would normally be expected around mid/late Oct.

Yes, the average date of first frost is reported to be between September 1 and 10. This is based on a summary map; I don't have a more precise date from tabular data.
Generally, it just takes a calm, clear night to get frost at this time of year, but we've had a lot of overcast nights this month.

ETA: The average date of the first fall frost for the 1981-2010 period for a station with similar climate about 100 km away is September 5.

Nice and sunny out, high teens Celsius, might take a quick hike in the woods haven't been down there lately and maybe a long walk into town tomorrow.

Sunny a bit cool, dong a few small things like putting away the air conditioner, putting the stove pipe back on the stove and mowing the lawn for the last time of the season.

Finally a nice cloudy day here in the low 80'sF. Tomorrow will be similar temps but sunny, after that it's back to the mid 90'sF for 2 more daze, ugh, where's autumn? Maybe this weekend? I'm taking advantage of the low 80's to install a water drainage system around the front porch. It's dry as a bone now but the next flooding rain probably isn't far off.

Clouding over with a strong wind, so strong that the power went out for a couple of hours. Went out and read a bit of book, picked some carrots and took out the stuff to the compost piles.

High winds last night and blustery all day. Deck furniture got rearranged and our crow lost the cherry from his beak.

Calm, cloudy, and mild autumn temps here wth highs around 70F. Still no rain, in drought conditions as fire hazard warnings pick up. Glad the heatwave is over.

Today was cloudy but no rain. It was an early start be cause had to get the recycling out. Later the brother in law brings out their dog because there is some renos going at the house, expanded upstairs bathroom and new roof and the dog was annoying the workers. So I grab a book form the bookshelf just happened to Carl Sagans' Cosmos and most of the morning and afternoon read it but got a drowsy the night before. Then the sister, brother in law and youngest niece came out to get the dog, but mom was trying to put away the gator and it stopped, had to recharge battery and mom and niece went for a little ride, realized I should of put a bucket of peelings on it with them took the bucket out to field and dumped it. Then the niece was on the gator by herself and hitched a ride back to the house, not use to be in the open travelling like that and no there no videos.

Waiting for the eye of the typhoon to arrive and listening to the wind outside. The river that passes through our town may overflow its banks, but were not close enough to the river for it to be a danger.

For some reason I had thought you were located in Great Britain. This morning's low was 50F, the coolest yet here which activated the heat pump. The drought continues, fall colors are lacking as the trees turn from green to brown.Take care Jens and hope you get through the storm a-ok.
